Finally persuaded my urologist to order ExoDx Prostate (EPI) test
It took 4 months, but my urologist is ordering me an at home ExoDx kit. He wanted me to just do a biopsy, but with a pirads 3 mri, I wanted to do the exodx first before an invasive biopsy. If it comes up negative, I will probably continue with a psa test every 3 months ( what I am currently doing). I think the ExoDx is a strong predictor in the case of a negative result. So, it would be reassuring that my current psa testing without biopsy is safe.

All pirads 3 are 10 to 20% chance of agressive cancer. 77 only refers to the slice of the mri inwhich the indeterminate lesion was found.
That was my urine biomarker score of 77 tha exodos test 0-100. Anything over .15 usually rules out AS so my score prompted a biopsy because greater chance of harboring gleason 3+4 or greater.
Oh, ok.
While the size of your prostate can definitely be a player in your PSA rise, there are many men on the is site like me that had significant cancer with low PSA and negative MRI results. I had a PSA of 2, negative MRI, DRE, and ultrasound. I insisted on a biopsy due to family history and a large Gleason 3+4 lesion was found. My surgeon said I was lucky in that the low PSA, negative MRI guys are usually found to have advanced PC at surgery. He said that approximately 10% of us get low PSA expression PC so important to pay attention to any other warning lights and to the degree or velocity os PSA rise.

1 ReactionAbsolutely, good advice. My mri was not negative, but indetermi ate. Family history if more information to be considered, just as statistics ought to be. For exampme, having a a prostate cancer that has spread outside of the prostate with a pirads 3 is extremely low. But all relavant information should be weighted together.
