Factor X Deficiency with Amyloidosis

Posted by gchat @gchat, 5 days ago

I was diagnosed 3 years ago with AL Amyloidosis, along with Factor X deficiency. I was told the Factor X deficiency was very, very rare and it was textbook material. I was bruising and bleeding really easily and had a problem controlling the bleeding. I have been under chemo treatment for the Amyloidosis and it has been well managed. However, the Factor X deficiency can only be treated before a surgery or anything invasive that may cause me to bleed anywhere, and then I get a Factor X blood transfusion right before the procedure. Has anyone else ever had this problem? The Amyloidosis has caused alot of damage to my kidneys, and it has certainly diminished my quality of life due to other complications that have occured since I was diagnosed. It is not curable, but treatable, so I pray for the best and count my blessings
