Eyes watering.

Posted by pml @pml, Oct 2 9:00pm

I have worn glasses since I was 6 years old. I am currently 78. Recently my eyes have been watering a lot in the morning when I first wake up. I use eye drops for dry eyes in the morning; two drops in each eye. It doesn't help at first but after a couple hours my eyes finally quit watering and are fine the rest of the day. I saw my eye doctor last month and he said everything was OK. However, my eyes weren't watering as much then. I'll probably have to see him again. Does anyone else have this problem or any suggestions what else I should do besides eye drops and prayers which I do also.
Thank you!

Update from PML:
I did some research and discovered that Vitamin A helps watery eyes. I tried Vitamin A supplements and the watering almost completely stopped. My eyes water very little in the AM. Possibly, that is normal. I only take one Vitamin A tablet a day and it works great! Also it helps to eat foods with Vitamin A such as carrots, spinach, broccoli, yellow peppers etc. It's so nice not to have my eyes dripping again!
