experiences with ruptured kidney cyst and polycystic kidney disease

Posted by petr @petr, Jul 1 10:31am

6 months ago a cyst on my left kidney ruptured. I had extensive bleeding and my hemoglobin was quite low. I was hospitalized for a week and had tranfusions. Gradually my hemoglobin has returned to normal and the hematoma has gradually been reabsorbed (if thats the correct term). Now of course, I worry about more cysts rupturing. I am 76 years old and my PCP now says I have polycystic kidney disease.

I am hoping to hear about any experiences with ruptured kidney cyst.
