Prostrate removed Jan. 2024. After 34 rounds of radiation completed July 2024, complicated by bladder neck contracture. April 2025 Iowa City preformed a DVIU balloon dilation, developing radiation cystitis , bladder neck necrosis & contracture, underwent 60 rounds HBO. Self cathing daily from June2025 expelling blood clots till clots gradually turn black & dying off my last day I cathed was Feb. 7th 2026 ( of course I was still incontinent) but could also use the toilet & started a normal stream . my bowels went back to normal I felt so much better ! Also came off my 2 year regimen of lupron injections, abiratrone & prednisone Feb. 2026.
Till I went back to Mayo urology March 25th 2026 scheduled for MRI same day and Dr. did a cystoscopy , not sure what happened.... since then I have to cath every 2-3 hours with painful bladder spasms, sever constipation unable to pass urine on my own.
Working towards repair of the bladder neck contracture & placement of AUS in a two step surgery. I am just having a very difficult time with the dept. and the communications.
Does anyone have input for me, from March 25, 2025 cystoscopy experience moving forward with the above reconstructive issues ?
