experience with efgartigimod in cidp?

Posted by rainerk @rainerk, Oct 8, 2023

CIDP is usually treated with corticostereoids, IVIG, sometimes rituximab, methotrexat or cyclophosphamid. In my country (Germany) Efgartigimod has not yet the admission of our "FDA".
so I am interested in experience from anywhere else.

@rainerk I was curious, so I checked it out. Our Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved it 17 December 2021 to treat Myasthenia Gravis. It’s brand name is Vyvgart.

Thank you for your answer, our FDA gave the approvement for myasthenia gravis, but not yet forCIDP. So there is only an off lable use. And of course no insurance will pay for off lable use. But still it it is very interesting for me to hear, wether Vyvvgard ( Efgartigimod) is given in the US or anywhere else and how efficient it is in CIDP.

Does it help? Gabapentin and Pregabalin do little. Let us know! I am 4 years in…Looking for even more improvement.
Thanks,

I do think efgartigimod is effective in CIDP al least in my theoretical understanding of CIDP. It is called a „jump innovation“ and it will be better than IVIG. But I haven‘t
read any medical articel yet. So I‘m waiting to hear sth.
