Excessive fluid buildup in the free space 4 weeks post op

There is no liver indications for the excessive fluid. A g & j tube have been added but the j keeps going into the stomach due to severe bloating. He is now on TPA. They cannot figure out where the fluid is coming from. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, I misspoke. My husband 4 weeks post op Whipple has excessive buildup of fluid. He is on TPN because his stomach is still not working. Infection in peritoneal fluid. Blood clots in his chest. Any suggestions?

They finally removed the “j” tube, it would not stay in place. He had surgery Feb 17. Beside soft food he had had nothing. For the past 24 days he’s only had fluids. He’s being fed via TPN. Currently in rehab to gain strength.
