Ewing sarcoma: What to expect after surgery?

Hi, I’m new to the group. My husband was diagnosed with an Ewing sarcoma in late February and started chemotherapy in March, he is currently done with 5 of 14 cycles and having surgery to remove it in July. It is located in his left foot(3rd metatarsal) does anyone have any advice as what to expect after surgery. He is 49 years old.

I was diagnosed with Ewings too. I am a 55 year old female and live in Australia.
I wanted to reach out to you. I cant give any post op advice for your husband except it sounds like that is great that is operable. Where are you two having treatment/surgery?
For me, I have what they "think" is Ewings based on Pathology but its a secondary cancer and the primary cant be found with scans or genetic testing at rhis point..so Ewings it is. I have multiple tumors on my spine, ribs and sternum so no ops for me. Chemo it is, 4 rounds. Once every 3 weeks and then we scan.

He’s getting treatment at Mayo in MN. This last chemo really wiped him out, hopefully surgery at the rest of the regiment will go as planned and we can move on. I will be praying that you can get some answers 🙏🏻

@sarahduerr the chemo is nasty. I have used massage, meditation and nutrition to help minimise side effects as much as is possible.
I had alot of bone pain after each session, does your husband suffer with that? I have found other threads saying an anti histamine like Clarantin can help.
My next chemo is froday so I will try it then.
I hope your surgery allws him some releif in that the cancer is out.
Please let me kniw how you go.
