Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?
Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

@kristie2 Thanks for details! I am gathering that you are on the younger side?
Wondering if you want to share your age? I'll understand if you don't.
I am 77...have been aware of osteoporosis for the past 10+ years...tried natural solutions. Alas! Looks like I must face the chemicals. The Evenity will be my first real medical attempt. My worst numbers (-3.5) are in my hip area. I don't have CTX OR P1NP.
My Dr wants to put me on Reclast after 12 mos. to maintain gains. You obviously have had a longer, harder journey . God bless your continued travels and choices!
I am 71 . I tried the natural approach when my DEXA score was -2.8 in 2012 , then in 2020 -3.7 . I was so against going on meds then it dip to -4.6 and I had to do something and started Evenity . These numbers were my spine . My hip -2.1.
I will now start my next journey with Prolia for 1-2 years then onto reclast.
Thanks! That makes sense to me...since I understood that Prolia retains bone...not build bone.
Per Dr. McCormick and my endo Prolia does approximate increase in spine bone mineral density by 6-8% during the first 2 years . That’s why I will go on Prolia 1-2 years then reclast .
I had the full 12 injections and had little side effects. A bit of itching at the injection site, some muscle cramps especially the first few days after a shot. But I kept sugar free antacids that had calcium that I could chew and they would go away quickly. I am back on prolia now and grateful that there is treatment at all for osteoporosis. I have had no fractures, thankfully, because it was found early.
@kristie2 please keep us posted with your journey. Wish you the very best!
Hi @laurie22 from what you wrote, it sounded like you had prolia shots before evenity treatment. If so, may I ask how many shots of prolia you have had before evenity? Also, if you don't mind, could you share your dexa results after 12 months evenity? Thank you very much!
I have finished my 12 months of injections in my arms. I was apprehensive as you are when I started, but I had no side effects at all. The first time one arm was sore (I got shots 1 in each arm), but very minor. . . but that never happened again.
I had absolutely no problem. I did request the injection to be given in my abdomen, given my experience with my 1st Evenity. I had very minimal tenderness and no side effects. I feel perfectly fine!
I hope all goes well with you.
Thanks for your reply! Best of bone to you!
