Evenity follow up

I am halfway through with my year of Evenity and am looking ahead to what is next. I feel like my best options are either Fosomax or Reclast. Any opinions? (I know that's like opening a can of worms!)
I don't think my insurance will cover Reclast so I may be forced to go to Fosomax.

If you have Medicare it should cover it. Under part B. I think many centers try to give it over 15 minutes but I read here in this forum that giving it over a longer time period may reduce the possibility of side effects (and also giving it with a Normal Saline infusion). My center normally did it over 15 minutes but my provider ordered it over an hour at my request and they did it that way. I did not have any side effects at all (that I know of) so that worked for me. Also taking Tylenol and an antihistamine right before the infusion and the rest of the day of and 3 days after regularly (4 times per day) 625mg is part of what is recommended and hydrating.

Do you know why your insurance won't cover Reclast? Just curious about that. I have Medicare so it was covered. I took Evenity last year and got some good results with it (per Dexa in Jan 2026). I did Reclast 3/26 without problems. If you do it make sure you ask for a longer infusion (I had an hour) with Normal saline with it. I took an antihistamine and Tylenol before the infusion and continued Tylenol 625 every 4 hr for 3 days.

@deborahla Congratulations on the good results! What is Tylenol 625?

Tylenol 650mg is what I meant (2 325mg tabs). Sorry about the wrong numbers.

I was on Prolia for about 13 years and I started getting worse. Three months after my last Prolia shot, I started Evenity. So far, I have only had 1 shot of Evenity. My doctor originally wanted me to do Reclast 3 months after the first Evenity, but now wants me to take a shot of Prolia instead. Has anyone had a similar experience?
