Evenity causing reflux
First injection of Evenity in Feb. 2026, 5 days later had lung tightness. I have acid reflux but has been very well controlled as well as asthma, only taking 10mg. of Nexium and only occasional need for asthma inhalers. Doctor doesn't think Evenity is cause, took a pause on Evenity and have increased Nexium to high dose for four weeks to see if silent reflux is causing lung tightness. Had similar experience with reflux ten years ago and breathing did get better after four months of high dose of Nexium, but due to the timing of Evenity and
lung tightness five days after injection, I'm not ready to jump back into Evenity.

Talk with your doctor about whether or not Evenity might be causing the lung tightness. Don’t assume it is especially since the onset was 5 days after the injection. Best wishes for an answer from someone who knows your medical history!
Given that the lung tightness started just five days after your first Evenity injection, it's understandable that you are hesitant to restart it, especially since the timing seems suspicious, although your doctor is also correct that silent reflux or asthma could potentially cause similar symptoms; since you've had a nearly identical breathing issue from reflux in the past that improved with higher-dose Nexium, it makes sense to see whether the increased reflux treatment helps before making a decision, but if the symptoms persist or clearly worsen after any future Evenity dose, that would be important information to discuss with your doctor when weighing the risks and benefits of continuing the medication.
