Evenity Injection Sites
I will be having my first injection this week. I am 76 years old very thin and have no abdominal fat. I'm wondering and worried about the injection in the abdomen- there is no fat at all there. Is there a reason why this location is important or have people had the injection in the thigh or upper arm. There is more subcutaneous tissues in those areas on my body.

Evenity is to be given Subcutaneously. I wonder if it just felt intramuscular to you. My injection sites, upper inside arm, form large oval lumps that get warm and burn about 4 hours after the injections. It was suggested that I try getting the shots in my stomach, on either side of my belly button. I hope you can clarify how your injections are given. Take care!
@barbarakk: the Evenity box insert, as well as many online posts direct the injections into soft tissue - definitively not in muscle. I think This is worth a discussion with your doc prior to next month’s Evenity injection. Best health to you…
I had two shots given as one treatment, one in the upper arm and one in the abdomen. Both hurt the next day and eventually bruised.
I am now in my 8th month of second round of Forteo. First did 24 months in 2016, followed by one shot of Prolia, and then 5 yrs of Evista (Raloxifene ). Now taking the generic brand of Forteo. I hope to follow up with Raloxifine again, as Evenity is not covered for me and I am very uncomfortable with the side effects I read about. Due to have another bone density in November and that will help me decide what to do moving forward. Everyone has different contributing factors to consider when making these decisions. I have chronic low white blood count and anemia. The teriparatide seems to be least side effects with proven results for me.
