Estrogen patches not found

Posted by dalexis00 @dalexis00, 5 days ago

I'm in n. Colorado, can't find anywhere here to buy my weekly patches. All pharmacies are out. I hear concern is nation wide. Suggestion?
My Dr. Said no to a subscription on gel or creme to apply on the skin. So now I. Guess I'd go to a new Dr. too! Just to keep hormone in me.
And I know that we shouldn't be taking it orally.

So sorry to hear this. We haven't faced this shortage yet here in the NC Piedmont area. Why is your provider saying no to gel and cream??? I'd definitely get a second opinion
Keep us posted and good luck.

Funny, my regular pharmacy was unable to fill my refill for Estradiol vaginal cream. Said it was out of stock…unavailable. I had to contact my other pharmacy. I have 2, long story, but they were able to fill it. It scared me. Apparently, there is only one company who makes it.

@celia16

My functional medicine provider mentioned the rise in women's interest and use of hrt/bhrt and said she anticipated that pharma may capitalize on this by raising prices but I can't help but wonder if we will face a "shortage".

Welcome to Mayo Connect!
There is a shortage overseas too.my daughter lives there and has been prescribed a cream. Apparently, they come in different strengths.
What’s the reason behind the shortage? Someone said that demand is increasing since more women worldwide are being treated- good in itself, but production must keep up.
