Escitalopram + Wellbutrin together, experiences?
Hi,
I have been taking Efexor for quite some time now but unfortunately it’s sadly not working for me.
I suffer from GAD and Depression.
I've tried Escitalopram in the past and it only helped me with anxiety and panic attacks it didn't do much for my depression. I was thinking of talking to my psychiatrist and asking whether the combination of the two -Escitalopram and Wellbutrin - mught work for me.
I've read that a lot of people benefited from this combo. Is there anyone in this community who teied them both together? What was the experience? Did they help?

I take that combination and it works fine for me. I was on Wellbutrin first, and then had problems with anxeity and my provider added Escitalopram. Been on that combination for a few years.
Definitely talk to your provider about it, but do not stop or start new medications without checking with your provider.
Any specific problems you're having with Efexor?
@roch it's not working for me. I still have anxiety pretty bad and no mood improvement 😫 I'll talk to my psychiatrist about the Escitalopram + Wellbutrin when I next see them. I really can't go on like this. It feels like hell
I took Wellbutrin for a long time - but it gives me sores in my mouth (the doctor kept telling me it couldn't be caused by the Wellbutrin, but I finally looked it up and it's a known side effect!). I now take Escitalopram with Gabapentin and that works pretty well for me. I've never heard of mixing Wellbutrin and Escitalopram but if what you're taking now isn't working, it sure seems worth a try. If you do it, please let us know how it works for you.
