@hopeful33250 Teresa,
I'm happy that I could help. The areas I have had injected are the cervical and lumbar spine.
With the preferred steroid, (described further in this post) relief has been up to 18 months. @jehane - I have found the type of steroid used in the epidural injection makes a difference in how much, if any, relief is obtained. Dexamethasone seems to provide the greatest relief.
@sandytoes Thanks for the additional information, Jen. The cervical area is the most painful with the lumbar coming in a close second. I'll have to reconsider getting a referral to the pain clinic and I'll ask specifically about the type of steroid you mentioned.
I had an epidural when I gave birth to my daughter. It would have been fine except that it numbed my left side and left my right feeling everything. If they could promise me that it would be even on both sides I would be happy to do it again for neuropathy. Peggy

No, I'm not still suffering from effects of epidural, it wore off in a few hours. I am wondering if epidural works for axonal sensory neuropathy, that's why I'm participating in this thread. I'm sorry if I was unclear. Peggy

@pfbacon You are still suffering from the effects of the epidural? I have not heard of that happening before.
Is there any real solution for it?
JK
