ENT Rhinitis

sheil09, Yes. I have allergic & non-allergic rhinitis.

I don't have throat pain per se, but, a sore throat from sinus drainage.

I sneeze alot, get a stuffy nose, eyes itch and get sinus headaches with it. I am prone to sinus infections.

I cannot use products with perfumes in them.

Allergy testing showed dust/dust mites & pollens are my worst culprits. I did allergy shots and I couldn't tolerate them due to sensitivity. They help a lot of people though.

I use Flonase & Azeteline (Sp?) spray when change of seasons take place. Fall is the worst time for me. I use a
hepa filter in the house and a cool mist humidifier in the winter. Flonase can cause nose bleeds with some people,but, there are other sprays the ENT doctor can prescribe.

I irrigate my sinuses with the NeilMed Sinus rinse to keep bacteria down.

If you live in states that have had a lot of fires, you may be in a worse flare due to the debris in the air.

I use Mucinex (not D) sparingly as a mucus thinner.

Very common. Be cautious not to get tripped up in an ENT diagnosis. “Rhinitis” simply means Nose/Nasal (Rhino) Inflammation (Itis).

Anyone can have nasal inflammation at anytime due to many different reasons. Nasal inflammation is neither good or bad. It just is. It’s just the bodies mechanism of protection/defense.

Don’t allow a “diagnosis” aka objective opinion finding make you nervous.

Doctors are great at doing this. “Take this and follow up with me in 5 weeks”. Another visit another dollar in their pocket.

I use neilmed sinus rinse with 1/4 teaspoon white vinegar. I also use ayr nasal spray. I run a levoit hepa air purifier with a toxin remover filter. I take loratidine. I had 5 years of allergy injections for dust mites. I stay away of aerosol sprays perfumes excessive use of cleaners witb chemicals. Bleach is too much for me. The soap I use is Kirk's Castillo bar soap.

I also use neilmed sinus rinse but without vinegar, twice a day, and although I don't like rinsing it has helped. I also use the Ayr nasal spray at night, basicially because night time sleep is worst with my Rhinitis. I was tested for allergies and outcome was mold and dust.

Yes! Look up LPR...
Hallmark symptom of it. When it's bad it's bad. Throat clearing painful swallowing. Connected to PND or Silent Reflux.
