Endometrial ablation

Hello.
I have an appointment next week to discuss endometrial ablation. I am 50, done with wanting additional children. I am anemic, iron and ferritin levels very low! Heavy periods seem to be my issue. Change every hour or so and double up to prevent accidents. GI pretty much ruled out.
What am I to expect immediately post procedure for the following days then following months/years. Much pain? Will periods just become lighter or gone? I am taking oral supplemental iron but I think I’m losing more than I can take in.
