What might be causing electric feelings in my body?

Can I quickly circle back to clarify who told you not to be around copper and also find out what type of care you have sought and/or received?

Hi thank you for your response. No one told me not to be around copper.
It's the feeling I have when I'm closed to it. Even holding the phone it's
the same reaction I feel when I'm around copper. My whole body feel
electrified and on top of that I feel a severe headache.

I have the same problem after an electric shock requiring hospital. I am in touch with an expert on EMF sensitivity and the two groups that experience it are victims of accidents and of shocks.

You can use your phone with the wifi and cellular date turned off. I turn them on briefly if I need to but write messages first with it off. I also use a key board and mouse so I don't touch my computer.

Hi @fififefe, I know how unsettling it is to have the feeling of your body being electrified. It happened so frequently while I was going through this, that I called them my power surge days. But it was scary when I didn’t know what was going on.
Our symptoms are similar with the electrical impulses but I didn’t have any headaches or reaction to anything in particular. I also know the reason for my situation. My zaps were due to inflammation and damage to my spinal cord from graft vs host disease following a bone marrow transplant. Along with a trembling in my entire body, I also experienced Lhermitte’s syndrome, if I tipped my head down, I would have radiating buzzing from my neck, down my back and into my arms. Adding insult to injury it progressed to where I also lost all feeling from my waist to my toes for several days. This happened about 2.5 years ago and has now completely reversed itself with medication to halt the inflammation.
After reading that your symptoms began after an accident I’m wondering if there is a pinched nerve or compressed disc that might be causing your sensations? I’d like to tag a fellow mentor, @jenniferhunter who has more experience when it comes to spinal cord compression and neurological symptoms. Maybe she can point you in the right direction for some guidance.

What type of accident did you have? Was it an automobile with a whiplash?
I don’t see any reference to your having seen a neurologist, osteopathic doctor or a clinic that specializes in spinal injuries. Have you sought medical help for this?

@fififefe Thank you Lori for inviting me into this discussion. Fififefe, please let me introduce myself. I am a spine surgery patient because of an old injury from a whiplash, and ultimately that caused spinal cord compression and it did cause electric shocks down my body. I can tell you that figuring all this out and having some one level surgery really changed my life for the better. I had been through several years of doctors missing the problem before I came to Mayo and found the right doctor. I am so glad I did that.

I understand how scary this is, and I was a terrified patient. Fear is very powerful, but more powerful than fear is the patient who takes charge and advocates for themselves to find the answers. You have control over your decisions if you do this instead of letting fear control you.

Where did you make a connection that copper was causing a problem? Is this a problem of being in physical contact with something? Can you tell me about how holding the phone is causing your pain? Are you bending your neck to hold a phone against your shoulder or is it bending your arm to hold the phone that is causing pain? Can you tell me what happened in your accident? Was this a whiplash? Do you feel different is you have good posture compared to slouching posture? Is it better or worse if you are sitting or standing? Is the pain worse at night when you lay down?

I know I had so many questions, and I bet that you do too, so ask away. I can tell you all kinds of details about my journey and how I discovered something that a bunch of doctors missed. Cervical spine issues cause big headaches too and muscle spasms from spine problems can start pulling the neck out of its normal curvature and that stretches muscles that connect the head and neck. It causes dizziness too, and possible pains elsewhere.

Have you tried a heat wrap to try to ease the pain?

I could be wrong but I believe this thread is discussing apples and oranges. I am in a perhaps unique position because I have cervical/spinal issues that cause electrical sensations and chills. However, I also had a serious electric shock and am extremely sensitive to electromagnetic frequencies and electricity. I believe I know what @fififefe is describing and it is so rare that it seems it is being misinterpreted as electrical "sensations" when it is actually a reaction to EMF.

There ARE ways to minimize these reactions, as I wrote before. Go to settings on the phone and turn off wifi and cellular date (and Bluetooth). Use the phone the old-fashioned way and turn wifi of cellular date on if really needed, momentarily. I also bought some rubber gloves to hold anything that sets this off. This may all sound strange to other readers here. Again victims of electric shock and of traumatic accidents are the two groups that tend to have this problem.

EMF sensitivity is suffered by many people but is rarely discussed. My expert is Jeromy Johnson. His TED talk is informative. And yes there are protective barriers that can surround your bed. I have not gone that far yet!

I can feel electricity coming from objects and electrical pressure. My hairs on my arms stand up and I feel electrical zings traveling across my arms. I also feel pressure from electrical surges or leaks. The barometric weighs down on my neck and shoulders which causes headaches and heavy weighed down feeling. What causes this???

I have this feeling also. I've read articles and seen this on some show where there are people suffering the same thing. May have something to do with fiber optics, cell towers close by, phone usage. Just a thought. Mine gets worse when I am using my cell phone. Along with this, I am suffering with annoying high frequencies noises in my ears. The further one gets away from populated areas, the better they feel. However, i'm not going anywhere so I guess I have to live with it.
