Effexor Tapering Off and Side Effects
I am tapering off Effexor after being on it for over a decade. I've noticed my stomach gets queasy & I have digestion issues. Has anybody else had this problem?

Effexor XR is the only available form of the drug; Effexor was discontinued some years ago.

Has anyone converted effexor to compound for reducing slower?
I got down to -15 balls from the 37.5 after 6+ months super slow due to lots of life challenges,
Dr converted -15 to 32 mg, but when i took the compound i nearly fell over with dizziness which makes me think it must have been too high cuz when i reduce i get different side effects--(sore throat/dizziness also)
Was worried its pain in ass to reduce balls each day and sometimes i drop some so was wondering if reducing by .5 mg or 1 mg at a time would be safer--but now i dont know if the conversion was totally off
Has anyone found a conversion chart from white balls to MG? argh!
I use the liquid form 7.5 mg per ml
My pharmacy supplies it

How many beads/balls are in your 37.5 capsule?
I've been taking Effexor XR daily for 20 years. My prescription is for three 75mg capsules (225mg total) once a day. I want to get off this medication, so my doctor suggested I try to taper off by only taking two XR capsules instead of the three capsules. I thought this might be too much of a decrease, so she suggested I add a regular 37.5mg Effexor tab to the two XR capsules to make it easier and try that for 2-4 weeks. If no major issues I could then decrease my dosage a little bit more. Does this sound reasonable?
Yes. I work in psych and this is usually how it is done, to decrease by 37.5 mg every 2-4 weeks depending on how you tolerate the decrease, until you are no longer taking the medication. This one can take a few months to get off of but titrating down like this is the safest way to stop the medication. Good luck!!
