edometrial cancer returns
I mentioned earlier that I was bleeding and it turns out that either the cancer returned or has progressed. My thoughts not the oncologist's. He says it has recurred. Don't know what the difference really means.
Anyway, the cancer was found in the vaginal vault, a place where the surgeon couldn't get to it during the hysterectomy.
Will be irradiated for that area to stop the bleeding and pain, but was informed that it will be mild enough not to arrest the cancer.
Future steps involve having another gyny. oncologist checking me out, a radiation doctor performing the minimal radiation procedure, and then a full body CT scan. Once the data are in my oncologist will re-stage my cancer.
Depending on the outcome, I will either take part in in a clinical study involve ENHERTU or Len Pem.
This waiting is frustrating and unnerving. It's been over 14 months being in limbo.

Mine returned as well after just 6 mo. of total hysterectomy and brachy therapy. Originally, I had stage1B and was told i don't need chemo. When the beast returned, I had 6 rounds of chemo with Keytruda. Now I'm on Keytruda only as maintenance. Had CT just last week and so far, so good, but start having vision issues like blurry and double vision. Going to see an ophthalmologist 🙁 in two weeks. feels like always on pins and needles.
keep me posted and I wish you all the best.
Sounds awful and frightening. At least the cancer is in check. Hopefully, the ophthalmologist will be able to get to the bottom of your blurry vision. How do you feel otherwise?
@madieblue So you are finished with chemotherapy and CT shows no evidence of CT. That's good news. I hope you get some answers from the ophthalmologist. Will you let me know what you find out?
@cookercooker I wanted to check in with you. Are you still waiting to hear from the gyn/oncologist? And for the CT?
I finished chemo in 2022 and been on Keytruda maintenance since.
I'm seeing ophthalmologist on January 10 and will let you know how it goes.
Thank you for caring.
I'm doing very well, thank you!
The CT scan will happen after I've been irradiated and the medical oncologist/surgeon examines me. I was supposed to hear back last Thursday or Friday but had not. Left a message with the cancer agency about appointments but never heard back from them either. Will be going down to the cancer today to inquire.
This has been an ongoing frustration. I live in Canada and cancer patients have to wait forever to get treatment.
Meanwhile, I've started medicating myself with supplements prescribed by my naturopath.
Thanks for asking:)
