Ebna1 Titers chronically >600u/ml but VCA IGG normal 25u/ml

Hi everyone!

I hope you’re doing well. I’ve been feeling quite anxious about my risk of developing multiple sclerosis (MS) and wanted to reach out for experiences and insights.

I had mononucleosis (mono) in my late teens (around 16–20 years old) and have had EBNA1 antibody levels consistently over 600 U/mL on multiple tests over the years, while my VCA levels have stayed relatively normal (for example, below 100–200). I’m now 22 and live in a country with a relatively high baseline risk for MS.

Recent research suggests that being in the top 5% of EBNA1 antibody levels can increase MS risk up to 32 times compared to people with low levels. Naturally, this has made me very worried about the future.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who had a similar EBNA1/VCA profile over years or decades and did not develop MS, or any advice and experiences regarding managing this risk.

Thanks so much in advance!
