Early stages of Avascular Necrosis

Hi, was recently diagnosed with avn in inner part of knee... i injured my knee working on my porch, ortho first though torn minisus, xray good, but avn from mri, curently on 4 week non weight bearing with anti inflammatory med. I read up on this and it sounds debilating.... can this be cured at early stages, or is surgury in my future.
