Anyone tried Dry Needling or Acupuncture for Pain or Neuropathy?

Posted by judypall @judypall, Mar 22, 2019

Has anyone had any luck with either dry needling or acupuncture? I have tried each of them one time. But made my feet tingle more. The PT who was administering the dry needling said that it goes through a cycle of pain to get better. I wasn’t too sure on that. Anyone?

I have tried accupuncture for my neuropathy which is diagnosed as due to toxic exposure. For me accupuncture was only a temporary solution. It was relaxing but sometimes the needles hurt depending on location. The timeframe was once a week for 4 months. I won't do it again.

I did 2x per week accupuncture for 5 months. No help. I have heard others who have found it helpful especially with electric stimulation as part of the treatment.
My neuropathy is from nerve damage to my sciatic nerve during hip surgery. Lyrica has been helpful.

I tried acupuncture with electrical stimulation. No help, unfortunately.

I've tried dry needling and it did nothing for me.

Neuropathy in front pads of feet. Acupuncture did not really help me, but foot massage did. It reduced the pain, did not eradicate it, but diminished it and eliminated the pain.

I have multiple issues in my neck and tried dry needling. It was amazing! Make sure the person who does it is well trained and experienced. I'm so grateful my doctor sent me to try it. I haven't used it for my neuropathy.

Yes, acupuncture over about 4-5 month period, twice a week for 2 weeks, then once a week for the remainder. Definitely helped - definitely . It was not immediate, but accumulative.
