Dropless cataract surgery - when not applicable

I have read about dropless cataract surgery. Under what circumstances would it not be a good choice as opposed to cataract surgery where you have to apply drops several times a day. The dropless regime seems like an obvious preferred choice - what medical ?situation would make it the less preferred choice?
