Doxapin makes me groggy the next day: Any tips?
I just started using Doxapin, 3 mg a night. It works well, but then I am so groggy the next day? Yawning during conversations, and can hardly keep my eyes open. Any advice?

a. Take it two hours earlier, but plan for getting to bed maybe an hour earlier as a result...mebbe....
b. Take less of it. If you have a pill cutter, and the dose is via a tablet, try cutting it in half. I use 1/4 of a zopiclone on the very rare time I resort to using that drug after a long 'dry spell'.
c. Take less of it...maybe every other day or every third day so that its residue doesn't build up, but also so that it retains its potency over time. If you subject your body and brain to something every day, the body and brain will adapt and try to 'center' themselves, meaning they'll not respond the way they did for the first and next few doses.
As always, only follow your doctor's advice. Don't rely on guidance from strangers here.
