Does vulvodynia or vaginal atrophy cause vaginal pain?

I don't know how to distinguish the difference. In my 20s, I developed Vestibulodynia after a diagnosis of Interstitial Cystitis. In my early 40s, I developed Vulvodynia that since the age of 47 (now 48) had morphed into vaginal pain and dryness. I'm wondering if vulvodynia and/or vaginal atrophy cause vaginal pain that makes you feel dry. I feel like Estradiol 10mcg twice weekly should be sufficient. I use vaginal Valium 1-2x weekly. But I've developed burning in my upper inner thighs. Does anyone else feel dry in their vagina and/or have burning in their inner thighs?

I have vaginal atrophy that causes vaginal pain because of the thinning out of the vagina walls , since I was 55. Sex is out. No matter what I use, it hurts too much. I haven’t used any creams my doctor prescribed because they might cause cancer. I’ve never had burning on my upper inner thighs. I use Dove unscented soap or soap for sensitive skin. I drink 2 liters of water a day..which helps. As long as I don’t have sex, I don’t have any problems. I know it can get extremely dry at times. Buy very soft toilet paper, no fragrances, cotton underwear, unscented soap, drink 2 to 3 liters of water a day. I put lemons and cucumbers in my water. Stay away from sugar. Take a probiotic everyday. I hope this helps a bit. God bless xx

Vaginal atrophy causes dryness, burning, painful sex, bladder issues and more. Estradiol cream does not cause cancer. That's a myth caused by the early 2000 Women's Health Initiative findings that have been proven to be wrong. The FDA hasn't removed the black box warning but any menopause specialist, up-to-date doctor or pharmacist would tell you to ignore it. The cream is life-changing and I urge you both to try it without worry.
