Does Prednisone cause a change in hair texture?
Does Prednisone cause a change in hair texture. My hair has become very dry and much thinner since I've been on Prednisone. My dosage is still tapering.

It is not just changing texture,it simply fall off。
Yes, thinning, falling out, becoming more course in texture, ...The good news is that it comes back to something like what it was before as you get to much lower doses. That's been my experience.
I lost over 50% of my hair coinciding with having PMR . My rheumatologist challenged my assertion that this was a side effect of Prednisone - and a few friends also said don't blame the Prednisone - but the accompanying stress you are going through after PMR Dx. My hair grew back , but I had to cut it short to sort of start over because the new growth was sticking up all over the place. I can scrunch my hair now and make it curly, not a bad outcome !
I would be tempted to change rheumatologists if mine denied very well known side effects of a drug he was prescribing. Not smart.
There are so many things that can impact hair loss ... like thyroid. While prednisone won't directly impact your hair - you should check other culprits. And your doctor should be kinder.
