Does Pluvicto work? What's the prognosis?
Hi,
Docetaxel doesn't seem to be working..My husband's PSA is up now to 500!! He's had 2 treatments of Docetaxel so far, but they are only giving him 1/3 dose, because he had a tumor removed at his spinal cord at T4 in November and is trying to get mobile now.
So, does Pluvicto work? Is it as good as Docetaxel? What is the prognosis with Pluvicto? This is all so scary.

My friend at 82 years old had Pluvicto and said it’s the best he’s felt in 4 years. He does have to stay isolated for a week after getting his treatment because of the radioactivity. Best wishes.
A friend told me about her ex-husband – a WHO doctor – who ultimately died of prostate cancer in the RSA. In his case, Lutetium 177 (Pluvicto) prolonged his life by ~5 years, only losing efficacy over the 18 months of his life. Any other cases – pro or con – of Lutetium 177 out there? Would be grateful for any information.
Thank you. Good to know@kjacko

1 ReactionPeter, who moderates the reluctant brotherhood at Brand’s prostate cancer bi monthly meetings Has had prostate cancer for 12 years. He’s had every one of the treatments possible. When it started coming back about nine months ago, he had Pluvicto And so far for the nine months since then His PSA has stayed below .1. He only had three of the six Pluvicto Sessions, because it worked so well and got his PSA down so far with three. This gives him the opportunity to go back for the other three when his PSA starts to rise again.
Pluvicto does have some issues. There’s two different numbers on the benefits. One says 1/3 of the people get really good results 1/3 get results and 1/3 get nothing. Another one says 60% of the people benefit and get at least a 50% reduction in PSA. I definitely would want more than 50%.
If you have certain genetic issues, either hereditary or somatic, it can affect how well Pluvicto Works. You can ask for a somatic test before doing Pluvicto To find out if you’ve got Genetic changes Due to the cancer.
If you have BRCA2 or ATM It seems to work better. If you have RB1, PTEN or TP53 They are Pluvicto resistant.
@archgac Thanks! My hubby 80 yr. feels great too after first treatment though restless/frustrated by the various radioactivity requirements. Wishing your friend good luck with next steps!
