Does Mayo Clinic do long distance evaluations?
I have a relative in the ICU for 2 weeks now with ARDS and multiple organs showing poor values (high creatine, BUN, bilirubin). They get better for a few days, worse for a few days, and repeat.
Does the Mayo Clinic do any kind of distance evaluation of medical records to determine if it's worth moving an ICU patient to one of their hospitals for diagnosis and treatment? We can't just make an appointment and drive him over in the condition he's in, but we would like a second opinion.
