Does anyone know how to be reconsidered for an appt at Mayo Clinic?

Posted by lemans77 @lemans77, 1 day ago

I have daily sever headaches, double vision, and MS. I've had many tested with no relief. I requested an appt with the Rochester clinic and was denied. Is there anyway to ask or be reconsidered for an appt?

Maybe try to get an appt with one of their satellite clinics in the area as those doctors have access to Mayo physicians.

@lemans77, it's tough to be denied an appointment, especially when you've invested your hopes that Mayo Clinic's team approach could be the answer. It sounds like you have taken the right steps to getting an appointment. Mayo receives more requests than appointment slots available, particularly in areas like neurology.

Here are a few things you might consider.
- Ask your physician for a referral.
- Try at a different Mayo Clinic location (AZ or FL). Additionally, the appointment schedulers may have recommendations of Mayo-trained neurologists who practice elsewhere to suggest to you.
- Look into the Mayo Clinic Care Network to find care closer to home.

The Mayo Clinic Care Network is a select group of independent health systems that are granted special access to Mayo Clinic's extensive knowledge and world-leading medical expertise. The Mayo Clinic Care Network helps keep care local by providing guidance and answers to many questions that might otherwise require a referral to a specialist. See the member hospitals here:
