Does anyone know how effective the new RSV shot is?

I am trying to decide whether to get the new RSV vaccine. Have had RSV recently. Does anyone know how effective the vaccine is?

Well our bodies seem to produce only a weak immune response:

Natural RSV infection does not provide durable or complete protection from re-infection. Reinfection can occur within 2 months of last infection. Older adults have weaker IFNγ responses to RSV than younger adults do, likely making older adults more susceptible to infection and to severe infection.Mar 1, 2023

And
Vaccine efficacy was 68.4% (95% CI, 50.9 to 79.7) against RSV-associated acute respiratory disease. Protection was observed against both RSV subtypes (A and B) and was generally consistent across subgroups defined according to age and coexisting conditions.Dec 14, 2023

And
For now, only one dose of the RSV vaccine is recommended. So far, RSV vaccines appear to provide some protection for at least two RSV seasons.Oct 12, 2023

Hi @egibbens, Here's a link to a Mayo article regarding RSV that may be helpful too: https://mcpress.mayoclinic.org/rsv/the-new-rsv-vaccines-for-older-adults/
