Does anyone have Medullary Sponge Kidneys?
One question is: How long does Reclast remain in your system?
I have a unique problem(s): I was diagnosed with Medullary Sponge Kidneys years ago, and I also have Tori (excessive build up of the bones in the mouth). Long story short: I was sent to an endocrinoligist for an unrelated problem. This endocrinoligist ordered Reclast for me to build up the bones due to osteoporosis. (I'm a vibrant 80 year old).
I started having strange occurances shortly after the Reclast. Just to name a few: First the tori started growing and causing pain, secondly, my hands started shaking, then tarry stools, bone pain (similar to youth growing pain). After 3 months, I started researching and I did a lot on reliable sites like Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and a host of others. I learned that if you have Medullary Sponge Kidneys, you should not be given Reclast, and in particular if you are elderly. I also checked a pharmacy site and the manufacturer's site. The manufacturer's site list a large list of side effects, of which I have had, or still have, a little less 1/2. Looking for help from anyone. Medullary Sponge Kidneys are considered a rare disease, however, my endocrinologist was aware of MSK. We had discussed it and it's a part of her report.
