Does anyone have any questions about papillary thyroid cancer?

I have a very good care team at Emory Winship in Atlanta. The diagnosis is indeed a lifetime treatment event, however treatable. The oncology and endocrinology staffs have been working together from the start. My treatment start spring 2025 with surgery at Emory, followed by the departments I previously mentioned.

This variant of thyroid cancer is a little more aggressive than some of the other variants. Each endocrinologist will treat your cancer a little differently. It can’t hurt to get another opinion from another endocrinologist if you’re not sure about the doctor that you have right now. Tall Cell cancer can be treated very nicely by a good endocrinologist without any problems wishing you very good luck going forward. You will be just fine after your treatment.

Do you have familiarity with tall cell papillary thyroid carcinoma? In general what types of treatment plans are various patients using?

Hi your question is really hard to answer because each person is so different possibly with some people there could be a connection other people no connection at all .
can’t hurt to bring your question up to your endocrinologist that you’re working with you really have nothing to lose. I am wishing you the very very best of luck going forward!!!

I am a girl who had Hodgkin's lymphoma at 19, now at 28 I have papillary thyroid cancer, has anyone else had this experience?

@gillsden if this were me I would go to another endocrinologist that specializes in thyroid cancer to get a second opinion. Good luck to you going forward.

@djmlex Very similar situation. Interesting what you said about cholesterol level. My levels went sky high recently and they were always normal. I am still having all symptoms of hypothyroidism despite taking synthroid for a year and a half. He now suggested a T3. I am considering Armour, but still getting opinions from people who are taking it.

Thanks so much for your reply! I am a worrier but I’m taking my doc’s word that it looks like scar tissue. I was also told if he thought it was something concerning, he would see me before my appointment in May. Take care 🙂

My oncologist said he thinks it looks like scar tissue. It’s small, 5mm. My tsh is now.08, down from 4.1! I was hypo for a few weeks so doc upped my synthroid for one day of the week. That seems to have worked to lower tsh. I am having ultrasound and blood work done every six months. My GP also told me it could be scar tissue. I’m hoping it is just that! 🤞Thanks so much for your reply. Appreciate it!
