Does anyone have any questions about papillary thyroid cancer?

I am a 25 year survivor of papillary thyroid cancer and have been volunteering for many years answering many questions from people who have papillary thyroid cancer and have questions about it. I would be happy to answer any questions from people who have concerns about thyroid cancer.

@djmlex Very similar situation. Interesting what you said about cholesterol level. My levels went sky high recently and they were always normal. I am still having all symptoms of hypothyroidism despite taking synthroid for a year and a half. He now suggested a T3. I am considering Armour, but still getting opinions from people who are taking it.

@gillsden if this were me I would go to another endocrinologist that specializes in thyroid cancer to get a second opinion. Good luck to you going forward.

I am a girl who had Hodgkin's lymphoma at 19, now at 28 I have papillary thyroid cancer, has anyone else had this experience?

Hi your question is really hard to answer because each person is so different possibly with some people there could be a connection other people no connection at all .
can’t hurt to bring your question up to your endocrinologist that you’re working with you really have nothing to lose. I am wishing you the very very best of luck going forward!!!

Do you have familiarity with tall cell papillary thyroid carcinoma? In general what types of treatment plans are various patients using?

This variant of thyroid cancer is a little more aggressive than some of the other variants. Each endocrinologist will treat your cancer a little differently. It can’t hurt to get another opinion from another endocrinologist if you’re not sure about the doctor that you have right now. Tall Cell cancer can be treated very nicely by a good endocrinologist without any problems wishing you very good luck going forward. You will be just fine after your treatment.

This variant of thyroid cancer is a little more aggressive than some of the other variants. Each endocrinologist will treat your cancer a little differently. It can’t hurt to get another opinion from another endocrinologist if you’re not sure about the doctor that you have right now. Tall Cell cancer can be treated very nicely by a good endocrinologist without any problems wishing you very good luck going forward. You will be just fine after your treatment.

@lindaadele Yes thank you for your comments.
I have a very good care team at Emory Winship in Atlanta. The diagnosis is indeed a lifetime treatment event, however treatable. The oncology and endocrinology staffs have been working together from the start. My treatment start spring 2025 with surgery at Emory, followed by the departments I previously mentioned.
