Does anyone have any questions about papillary thyroid cancer?

You know I read your comment and I’m kind of a very nervous person and I would probably feel like you do but I’m guessing if you were really really worried a lot find a really good thyroid cancer doctor. I would bring a list of questions not too big just a very most important situation‘s that are bothering you the most. It’s amazing that when you find out everything is very good you will feel so much better because I know myself I would get worried about every single thing. my very best wishes to you going forward!!!

I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma in August, 2023 and had a total thyroidectomy in October, 2023. 4.4cm nodule in right thyroid lobe, encapsulated, no lymph involvement. Thyroid bed clear after surgery. Had an ultrasound November, 2025 that noted a nonspecific 5mm nodule in right thyroid bed. Stressing about what this means because I was told I was low risk for recurrence and it could be scar tissue. I also had a low dose of RAI in April 2024. I thought that was supposed to get rid of any remnants of tissue and cells? Finding it hard to wait until May, 2026 for next ultrasound.

Is your care team suggesting further treatment?

Does anyone do complimentary treatments like vitamin c iv? I have non reactive papillary cancer.

@colleenyoung Had right side removed 2 months ago - TC PTC with BRAF and TERT mutations. Doing well and will have the other side removed next month.

@djmlex, we are all so different and have individual responses to drugs. Thanks for posting. When were you diagnosed with thyroid cancer? How are you doing now?

@tessma if it were me and I was worried I would want to get a second opinion from a doctor that’s very familiar with thyroid cancer it can’t hurt. Good luck to you going forward!!!

Hi, I am 22 and just had hemi done. Had left lobe and isthmus removed bc of two nodules classic papillary type. Clear margins no angio invasion. But left worried because there was lymphatic invasion. Thoughts? They are going to wait and watch it.
