Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?

Posted by lorirenee1 @lorirenee1, Mar 25, 2019

I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

The VA provides me with diabetic shoes with inserts. These have been a noticeable help to me.

The insert "ARCH SUPPORT" is the secret, not the shoe!
Glad it works for you.

A good shoe is okay but in all reality, you can buy a $20 Walmart shoe and buy a Dr, Sholes arch support insert and you have a "Good & Cheap"shoe to accommodate your aking feet from neuropathy.

Medicare pays for my Dr Comfort shoes and they have great arch supports included.

Does Medicare pay because you have Diabetes?
Would they pay if someone only has Neuropathy?
Do you have any complications from neuropathy?

I was wondering the same, and how do you get Medicare to reimburse you for the shoes?

I’ve ordered a pair of Oofos clogs for work (I’m a chef and on my feet all day)
Waiting for their arrival with bated breath!

Let us know what you think of the Oofos clogs. I have a pair of the slides and I love them. I would buy a pair of their shoes in a heartbeat .. IF ONLY they had wide sizes. Odd that a "recovery shoe" manufacturer wouldn't make sizes to fit wider feet. Since my PN, I can't wear a medium width shoe anymore. 🙁 Best of luck to you!! Mike

Medicare pays because I have diabetic neuropathy. I have severe numbness in both feet but without pain,
praise God for small things.

My podiatrist prescribed the shoes and Medicare pays for them. The brand my podiatrist prescribed are Dr Comfort, they have a catalogue with nice choices. I get a new pair every year.

I hated them. Really! The rubbery material squished my toes together and pressed down on the tops of my feet. I couldn’t even wiggle my toes. The absolute worst for my already kinda numb toes. I sent them back the next day.
