Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?

Posted by lorirenee1 @lorirenee1, Mar 25, 2019

I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

I wouldn't mind trying a pair of barefoot shoes, but I'm skeptical that they don't have enough support and that it would be easier to injure or cut your foot which is a very serious matter in neuropathy if it leads to an infection. Have you worn an orthotic with barefoot shoes?
Take care,

I would try them on first before drawing conclusions.
I don’t think you would need any additional support.
There are thick ones that offer more comfort.
Look up Whitin Or Hike Barefoot Shoes on Amazon & choose the ones that are
thicker. You can always exchange them if they’re not right for you.

I have several pairs of cushioned soles that are comfortable but not as versatile as the barefoot shoes which are great for exercise & better for walking & driving since the soles are thin & you can feel the pedals. There are plenty to choose from & most of them are inexpensive.

I have two questions about barefoot shoes. Are they comfortable for people with flat feet? Do you feel stones through the thinner soles?

Yes & no. Walking on rocks is doable but not great - flat feet should be ok.
