R-ALA features very heavily on this forum as a potential remedy for peripheral neuropathy. Does any Neurologist actually prescribe it.

My neurologist recommended it so I take one before breakfast, and another in the evening on an empty stomach. So, 600mg twice a day. 1200 mg total.
It definitely helps me.
YOU SHOULD TAKE ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.
I’ve chosen to take the brand, “DOCTOR’S BEST” 600MG.

Did it help for pain? My neurologist at Johns Hopkins suggested it. But it caused acidity for me. But your experience is very encouraging and maybe I’ll give it a try again.

Yes, my neurologist prescribed it for me when I was first diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy.

My doctor prescribed it for me. It didn't help me, but it has helped others.

@sbelur try taking with food.
It absolutely helps. I know because when I run out, I can feel the pain coming back. so I try very hard not to run out.
