Do I need a Urologist?
I keep reading about people visiting a Urologist after surgery.
I do not have a Urologist on my Care Team any longer.
The Urologist at the VA said there is nothing they can do for me at this point as he jokingly said, "We just cut things out and you no longer have anything to cut".
Prostate removed in 2014, 39 SRT in 2015. Currently rising PSA ~1.0 after 2 SBRT treatments (1 on each iliac node). Another PSMA PETScan being ordered.
I'm starting with a new Oncologist in a week and will ask but looking for thoughts here.

He’s mostly correct, but you might need him if you ever develop a urinary complication down the road.
Now mostly you will be in the hands of oncologists and radiation oncologists. Best,
Phil

I just had an MRI at Mayo Rochester Friday. If you look at the test result near the bottom, it’ll show you exactly what kind of MRI you had. I had a 3 Tesla.
Semi-seriously:
GUMO? Suggested new acronyms for Genitourinary Medical Oncologist?
GUPMO Genitourinary Prostate Subspecializing Medical Oncologist:

@jcf58 - Thanks
Multiparametric MRI of the prostate was performed at 3 Tesla with surface coil. High resolution T2WI, DWI/ADC, and DCE imaging with IV contrast performed.

I very much feel the same way about my Urologist. I think he sat on the fact that my cancer could come back and is still doing so now that it has. I am going to see the Radiation Oncologist and have an appointment with Mayo to see, you guessed it: Urologists! smh. I have cancer, I want a CANCER specialist. Urologist for side effects is fine. What am I missing here? This seems like wasting time that I may not have.
@larrypt3b - Start a new thread, you'll get better responses.
You need to get an Oncologist is all I can say. Mayo was easy to get an appointment with an RO.
