Diverticulitis and colectomy
Has anyone had part of their intestine removed? I have diverticulitis and sometimes I still experience discomfort and constipation.

Constantly monitoring what goes in mouth can easily come out feels like sometimes easier not to eat. My doctor is not much help. 1 Reaction@mtpeony No but is common to find during colonoscopy and the Dr. will note where it is located and let you. Diverticulosis's can be anywhere in digestive track. They think it is from low fiber diet. It is when the "pouch" gets infected that it becomes diverticulitis.

1 ReactionHad colon re-section 20 years ago and still get "flare ups"---and then sometimes develop into infections. Absolutely no clue why! But after the last infection and round of antibiotics, th discomfort and pain seem to be very lower left rather than the descending colon...more maybe where the re-section site is... Possible to be having issues there?????????Anyone have this ?????
