diphenhydramine and neuropathy

Can diphenhydramine, an ingredient found in Tylenol and some other OTC meds, mimic neuropathy by causing balance problems?

Welcome @caliber, From what I've read diphenhydramine can cause dizziness and balance type issues.
"Feeling dizzy or unsteady on your feet, or having difficulty concentrating
If diphenhydramine makes you feel this way, stop what you're doing and sit or lie down until you feel better. If the feeling does not go away or is worrying you, do not take any more diphenhydramine and speak to a pharmacist or your doctor.

Do not drive or ride a bike if you're feeling dizzy, unsteady or unable to concentrate."

This is something you should discuss with your doctor. Are you having these symptoms? Have you talked with your doctor?

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is not a senior friendly drug. Found in many sleep formulations it has raised concerns about anticholinergic effects and dementia.
It does have a warning about sedation and balance.

According to Google it says these are not side effects of this OTC drug. Did you suspect this caused your symptoms

I suspected it, so I quit taking Tylenol and melatonin, but it's only been a couple days, no results yet.
