Hello @sheilaplad and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.

I'm sorry to hear that your sister is losing weight while she is dealing with pancreatic cancer. It is wonderful that you want to help her!

Has your sister had any treatments for her cancer, such as surgeries or chemotherapy?

Can you and your sister talk about this a bit? Maybe ask her if she wants to be encouraged to eat, and how you can help her. If she does want to eat more, there might be a nutritionist specializing in oncology who might help as part of the team. She is lucky to have a caring sibling!

Welcome to Mayo Connect.
It is very nice your trying to help your sister. My mother had pancreatic cancer, lost weight before she was diagnosed, and after diagnosis, one thing she liked was milkshakes from the local convenience store.

Mayo just published a new Q&A titled "Mayo Clinic Q&A: Diet tips during cancer treatment."

You might also want to read the comments in this discussion; they offer many ideas about what people found to eat while undergoing cancer treatment.

If she is a patient at Mayo, there is a oncology dietician who specializes in diets for cancer patients. She was very helpful when I was in treatment and recovery. If she is a patient elsewhere inquire with her care team to see if they have that capability.
