Did you get fixed volume implants at the same time as mastectomy?
Can anyone share their experience with fixed volume implants at the same time as mastectomy?

@srkellen, you're asking a good question, so I pulled it out to its own discussion. You might also be interested in the related discussions started by @toomey79 and @ambermcc here:

@srkellen, as you know, the breast reconstruction process can start at the time of your mastectomy (immediate reconstruction), or it can be done later (delayed reconstruction). The breast reconstruction process usually requires two or more operations.
Are you having a single or double mastectomy?
I did but they got infected and had to be removed. I had a deep flap a year and a half later, because the skin had been damaged by radiation
Has anyone had a double mastectomy with fixed volume implants on the same day as mastectomies? Did it require additional surgery or procedure?
I did double mastectomy and had nipple and skin sparing reconstruction at the same time with natrelle silicone implants. Only the one surgery. Plastic surgeon also had to sne out some skin about 3 months later to be checked because it wasn't healing right and was not scar tissue. Came back negative. Also just had biopsy done on suspicious lymph node. Came back negative. Report stated it was reactive. Thanking the Lord for that as well. Well wishes to you on this long road 🙏
How would you rate your pain the first and second week? Did you have difficulty moving your arms? Are you happy with your results? Thanks so much for your response….wishing you continued good health!!
The pain blockers they used lasted longer than I thought they would and I was also given Valium for a week. Sore and tight but not unbearable with extra strength Tylenol. Sleeping was miserable. Had to be propped up and on my back the whole time. The drain tubes were not fun- so happy just to have them removed. They gave me a special pillow to use for the car to keep safe from seat belt. Slowly integrated some exercises and stretching I was told to do after drain removal. Still do them but feeling more human now. Implants take a lot to get used too. They still feel foreign to me but happy so far.
Good luck to you and many prayers
Thanks so much for sharing your honest experience! You have given me confidence and hope❣️🙏🌈
