Diagnosed with Lichen Planopilaris?

Posted by terriann @twinkie23, Jan 6 1:21pm

I was diagnosed by my dermatologist with Lichen Planopilaris on Thursday. I would like to learn more about this condition from you all without going down the google hole. I also have systemic lupus and have experienced increased joint pain recently. Would that contribute to the development of this new autoimmune condition? I appreciate you!

Hi @twinkie23 ,

I am sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of LPP. My doctor tested me for Lupus this past November when I was diagnosed with LPP because it can be related to Lupus, however it is very rare. I was fortunate and tested negative for Lupus. I have no other health issues except for being overweight and developed a lot of food allergies since going through menopause. I am now on a low histamine diet that is helping me significantly. Also, getting acupuncture once a week and taking biotin supplement 1x a day.

Hope some of this information helps you. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions.
