Diabetes and Colitis

Has anyone dealt with both colitis and being a diabetic?

As a result of aggressive immunotherapy and chemo treatments for breast cancer, my sister is an insulin dependent diabetic (Type 1) and dealing with colitis, which further limits foods that are easy on the gastro system. Any suggestions for foods that fit into both categories?
