Devices to ease peripheral neuropathy symptoms

Posted by larssen @larssen, Jun 24 9:12am

I have seen an ad for Dr. Ho’s MotionCiser , which seems to provide heat, vibration and movement to the patient with chronic lower leg issues. Does anyone know if there is serious research on this? Dr. Ho has been at this for a while now. Peer reviewed proof would be nice.

All I can say, in reference to this device, and all the other so-called scams is> "Ho, Ho, Ho...". Save your dough!

@larsseI agree with @heisenberg34.
Screams scam to me. I am very sceptical of these devices, supplements and so forth. some people believe taking supplements prevent neuropathy from getting worse, but I’m skeptical of that too. Seems I'm skeptical of most everything, lol.
I've had neuropathy for 40 years and I've never bought any device or any supplements. I think if these devices, supplements worked, the forums would be full of how effective and great they are, but unfortunately that's not what I’m seeing. I tried Gabapentin & Lyrica and neither helped my neuropathy or seizures. I just bought the most comfortable shoes I could find and used orthotics my podiatrist made and tolerated it.
Take care,
Jake

interesting gabapentin and pregabalin work great for me. I couldn’t function without them. I can function basically normally with them 1500 mg of gabapentin hundred milligrams of pregabalin. It’s amazing how some of these drugs work perfectly on people and he had on other people I seem to get absolutely no relief from them. as far as supplements supplying your body with nutrients can’t be all bad. I do believe that most pseudo cures offered commercially on television and on Internet are totally bogus. That’s pretty much all right right now.

Funny how, once I was diagnosed with IPN, I started seeing all kinds of ads for solving one's pain and suffering from neuropathy. That's the negative of spending a lot of time on my computer reviewing articles on neuropathy! Or, mentioning with "Alexa" in the background! Agree with so many others that an "EXPERT" Chiropractor has discovered the cure for neuropathy is purely one more way for them to reel you in! Legitimate medical journals and my connecting with Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins and other top resources will let me know when there is a "cure" for neuropathy!! Not the chiropractor in the local strip mall pedaling "Neuropathy cures!"
(P.S. I am NOT criticizing chiropractors, as the majority are legitimate and serve a wonderful purpose in the medical community! Just those who push false promises.)

I have neuropathy & I totally agree.

Hello @debbie316, Welcome to Connect and our neuropathy club (of sorts 🙃). While there is no cure there are things we can do to improve our quality of life with neuropathy. Mine is idiopathic small fiber PN and fortunately I only have the numbness and none of the major pain. What's the most difficult thing to manage with your neuropathy symptoms?

I purchased a Dr. Ho's foot device for neuropathy. the first use, I liked the way i could feel tingling in my legs and feet. I ....thought....this meant that it was helping the nerves .However, as this was a few months ago, I don't know why I decided it was not a good match for me, so i sent it back. Not sure, but it may have been because of reading that too much usage of a tens unit could have a negative effect on the nerves........so I do have an ultrasound device, gentler the Tens, which i use at home. But, I am also going to a neurologists office, where they are using Soft Wave treatments, which can regenerate , and help weak legs, plus a lot of other problems. First visit, the Dr., had it on tooooo high of an intensity. yelling out, did not hit his brain, to listen to the patient, But when I said.............child birth was easier, he did turn it down 2 levels. but, that was still way too intense. The 2nd time i went in, i said he needed to start out lower. he did. I only felt minor discomfort. this week, I will be having him put it up one more notch..........thing is, Soft Wave, can cause some discomfort, but it should Not be extreme pain. he needs to listen to his patient. So if he will .....listen......then i think the two of us can work together on this treatment. Ins. does NOT pay, First visit is a low price, but follow ups are not. It is worth it to me, to try it out, as i really need more strength back in my legs. Once a week with him, and once a week with my ultrasound wand..............Let the Magic begin......OR will it be, oh crap, that didn't work..............unknown journey..........it is a clinic well known for treating neuropathy.........they decided to add in this Soft Wave treatment,,,,,so i am ....hoping..

does that mean maybe you also are searching for something too? And maybe i was elected as the guinea pig? no problem. I've used myself as one for many years, trying alternative herbs, and things. Fortunately over 25 yrs, i only made a poor choice twice. But it was easily corrected. One of my best things i did for self, was use an herb, when i had 4 lymph nodes in my throat. MD's would have done .......well, check websites, and ask what they would have done. I got rid of them all with ONE herb................I got from having osteopenia, back to normal, with one supplement, instead of the Meds, and all their side effects, Between self, and a Naturopath, i have done quite well.............so guinea pig for softwave .....i'm good with that. No harm, from it anyway............just might have to argue w/ the dr., a bit, and his settings
there are so many people on this forum, that i never remember who is most interested, in updates...........so, i will see this dr . once a week for a while. You can check back maybe first or second friday in sept..........and ask me for an update.......if you want

My neuropathy has improved dramatically with Magnetic Magic PEMF. I use the device every day for 10 weeks now. It's my main treatment. I also have a shockwave machine l use once a week l got from Amazon and a red light l use 2x a week. The red light l bought from a chiropractor, it's called LZR ultrabright. These are the 3 main treatments at the neuropathy treatment center close to my house. I purchased my own equipments rather than keep paying for office visits. My neuropathy is from over exercising. Chief symptoms were altered blood flow and circulation on my feet, burning, tingling, bruising feeling, and discoloration only on the skin to the bottom of my feet with no swelling. No diabetes, blood tests were all normal. Since l started PEMF, each week l can tolerate being on my feet longer than the week before. I'm almost at 11 weeks and haven't plateau yet. My discoloration has gotten much better, the burning and tingling decreased a lot.
