What does my dentist need to know about my NETs?

They are flushing versus hot flashes. Flushing just turns you red, but you do not sweat. I get it after using the bathroom, funny as l flush the toilet l always start FLUSHING from my scalp, face, ears sometimes my upper torso. Mind brings in migraines, miserable those darn NETS in my lungs. I get bad G.I. if l eat the wrong good for my NETs/ histamine problem. Keep a journal when the flushing starts i.e. what you were doing, eating. Strange, my come on at night. I am 75, no hormones LEFT, l know they are carcinoid syndrome.

Keep a journal when the flushing starts i.e. what you were doing, eating. Strange, my come on at night. I am 75, no hormones LEFT, l know they are carcinoid syndrome. I have been known sticking my face in the freezer for relief. I would love a popsicle, put eating any sugars sets me up with extra bathroom visits. Good luck!!

This is my 6 years trying to get information for having Neuroendocrine Cancer, lung Nets! I was told by Mass. General any operation big or small doctors should have Octreotide needle or IV. in case of hormones from tumors changing the amount secretes during procedure. My Dentist was told no epinephrine, unless they had Octreotide as a stand by.
Sadly, a lot of doctors or dentists, do not understand this type of cancer. Please everyone, make a binder of what you have, what procedures you have had or not have. Type all you Doctor's nane, phone #, fax numbers. Hopefully, you have surrounded yourself with Neuroendocrine Cancer Care Team who can answer your questions, before any procedure, or taking any new medication not given by your CARE TEAM!

I throw blankets and tops on and off. I live by myself so when I am in public I'll ask others if I'm red or if there hot etc. I have experienced the same as u as far as sensitivity to certain foods,drinks ,bathroom trips. Thank u for reply

Hello all! I am new to this Mayo Connect and responding to sophiarose: no epi because it can trigger a carcinoid crisis - the Mayo calls it "carcinoid syndrome". Most other NET websites call it "carcinoid crisis".

If you know about the following NET resources, please ignore the following:

netrf.org (they have LOTS of videos on YouTube - worth your time to view, IMO); lacnets.org; carcinoid.org; https://ronnyallan.net/. The latter lives with NETs and is regarded as a credible patient advocate; he lives in the UK, has a website as well as a Facebook page, and provides links to credible sources.
