Dealing with chronic gastritis and gerd
Hi! Is anyone else dealing with gastritis, gerd, possible sibo and ulcers too? I’m really at a loss, I think I’ve tried everything under the sun, I own soo many supplements, I could open up my own shop. I’m trying to eat very well now, gastritis friendly and hope to heal everything. This has caused me lots of anxiety and depression on top of it all. Thanks for listening and hope we can all heal quickly. Blessings to you all!! 💕🙏💕🙏💕

I have both and ulcers which I was put on a PPI to heal them. Strict low acid diet with no soda or booze. I get scoped again in April 2024.
Have you tried green tea? Not a cure all but very beneficial. Also have you reviewed all your medications? Some medications really aggravate gastritis due to additives in certain supplements. One example...Additives in Levothyroxine(Unithroid)ruined me so I had to change it.
You don't say if you've been to a doctor yet. If not, then go.
What I thought was gastritis was actually from my gallbladder. They took it out, and, voila, I was cured of gastritis (unless I make really bad food choices.).
Yes! I’m actually scheduled for a colonoscopy and endoscopy with biopsies at Mayo in mid-December. I’ve had both an abdominal ultrasound and CT scan on all those organs, I do have mild fatty liver (which I’m trying to reverse) and high alkaline phosphatase…which I think is my gallbladder. I try and take a liver tincture to support it. But, it’s my gastritis, gerd, and bloating (possible sibo) that’s really tough. I think it’s all from a Candida overgrowth, in my gut and other places, boy this is tough! But I’m determined!! Thanks for your support and caring!! Mia hope you feel better too!! 💕💕🙏🙏
Glad to hear about doc.
My grandmother recommended drinking a glass of warm water (has to be warm! not hot, not cold) very, very slowly. Like 12 ounces in 1/2 hour. It used to give me some relief sometimes.
Movement, like rolling side to side in bed, has helped me sometimes, too.
I get relief from simethicone (spelling?) pills, like OTC GasX. I'm guessing that you have already tried this though...but just in case : )
Mia,
I am dealing with Chronic Hemmorhagic Gastritis (diagnosed last year by Gastroenterologist). I was on PPIs for 8 months and felt great until I started having side effects from the meds. I stopped the PPIs a few months ago and am determined to manage this without medication. I started out just trying to do "gastritis friendly" foods but still terrible pain a few times a week. I decided to start working with a registered dietician to see if I have food intolerances that may have contributed to the gastritis. So far, pretty good results with a low histamine diet! It is exciting to have progress in between the depressing days. Completely changing my diet is not easy or fun. I understand the anxiety part!! Last night we took our daughters to eat and I had carefully chosen what I would order, but something I had eaten that afternoon was already bothering me so I was uncomfortable and anxious during dinner. Ugh. So frustrating and demoralizing to try so hard and still get symptoms.
I am glad to see your post! I joined this a few weeks ago and this is the first gastritis thread I have seen. It is nice to know I am not the only one going through this. Sending empathy and encouragement your way 💜
I've dealt with Gerd/acid reflux for years.
Most everyone has had the flowing advice:
Elevate the head of your bed 6 to 8 Degrees
Eat early, often. and small meals
Stay up three hour before retiring
Try "Reflux Gourmet" at ight after meals as recommended by my ENT.
Best
Hello, I have had gerd for 30+ years. I take Synthroid. Have you tried that ?
No I have not tried Synthroid. Presently taking NP thyroid...loosing my hair on it and it smells like cat urine 🤦♀️but it stopped the gastritis that unithroid caused.
What is Reflux Gourmet, please and thank you. Baz10
