Daytime glare
I had cataract surgery over 10 years ago. Recently i have been having problems with daytime glare when reading and using my tablet. I have had problems with nighttime glare when driving for about a year. Has anyone else had this problem and have any advice to dal with this?

Hi
I have been fighting glare for over 30 years now. I'm 79 now, and at 37 I had cataract surgery. They would not put in IOL lenses back then so I have had thrick 9x power glasses ever since then. I have also been fighting glaucoma and take 3 different eye drops: pilocarpine, dorzolimide, and rocklatan. The best aid to reduce glare for me is always wearing a hat to cur down light coming into my eyes at an angle. I also close windows and turn on lights above in my stude to reduce glare. Have you tried these suggestions?
Don
I have closed curtains as much as possible. I haven’t tried wearing a hat and will try that. We have overhead recessed lights and i think it is since we started using the LED lights that i have noticed this. Thanks for your sugges.
I had cataract surgery a year ago. I have the daytime halos and have a pair of glasses for T.V. watching that work beautifully. I do have nighttime halos as well, but, my brain has tuned it out. You can also get glasses for driving and for the computer. I am not sure if halos and glare are the same thing.
It is strange that this happened 10 years after your surgery.
Praying you get some good results from your doctor.

1 ReactionHalos for me are seen around a bright object. My clock in the bedroom has a "glow" around it like a "halo". I do not see this during the day but, I do at night.
The T.V. has a "halo" around the outer edge of the screen. This is more profound at night when the room den is dark. I don't notice this during the day. I have glasses for watching the T.V. that help with this.
I apologize, as I should have read my previous comment and corrected it....my error. My halos are worse around an object at night than the day time.
I hope this explanation helps. God Bless You!
@covidstinks2023 I don’t have the halos. I just have problems with the reflections of light on my tablet and phone.
Hi there I hope you manage to set up the glare problem. However if not you may have something called PCO or secondary cataract which can be treated with a minor procedure called a yag laser. Alternatively there are many good herbal products on the market that can help you to reduce glare. Most are herbal supplements that you can order online
