Day 66 of a migraine. What has worked for you?
Day 66 of my first migraine. I’ve been to multiple neurologists and headache clinics and had several ER visits. I’ve tried dozens of otc and prescription meds- nothing has touched it. My pan is a constant 7-8/10 24/7.
Currently on propranolol, gabapentin, memantine, ajovy, migranol otc supplement, magnesium, and daily electrolytes. No rescue meds have touched it.
MRI, CT, lumbar puncture, and many blood tests are all clean.
I’m beaten and debilitated. I can no longer work or function. Please help me! What has worked for you all?

It would be great to know what the neck exercises are. Please share. Also I found eating a non inflammatory diet, no gluten, 400 mg of riboflavin, high magnesium 600 to 800 mg a day was very helpful. I read Dr. Deans book about magnesium. I still get migraines but not as often. 2 to 5 w month . Weather , smells also play a big part for me. I have found for me diet, exercise, hydration, weather, stress, sleep, etc are huge factors that have to be considered along with medication. We all know it is a very very real struggle . Blessings.
I had similar a year ago. I got some short term relief from wearing an ice cap and from acupuncture. Longer term relief came from PT manual manipulation of my neck and follow up exercises. I also saw a dentist who understands jaw misalignment and made me a special flat front plate mouth appliance which helped a lot, as did sleeping on a cervical pillow to help align my cervical spine. I also see a-neuro optometrist who monitors my binocular vision disorder which seems related to the headaches too. I still do Botox and AJOVY injections. The Botox seems to help a lot but sometimes only prevents headaches for a week instead of three months.
I’ve managed to not have another 3-month headache with aura, though, by doing all these things. I do battle with forehead tension. But no debilitating auras for quite a while. Oh. I also take low dose naltrexone and when I travel, daily small dose of gabapentin. It’s a lot. I hope you feel better soon.
I read a lot of research. I use to get migraines but not so much anymore. Quit getting vaccines. They put pigment & things that have a relationship to pigment in them. They're doing it in order to lower your metabolism & immune system. It's my understanding that certain protein enables your body to handle light. Vaccines are affecting that protein. Allergy shots do the same thing. I use acetaminophen, but I make sure I don't take too much. I drink 1 cup of green tea & 3 cups of black tea every day. I think tea somehow helps my migraines, but I don't know how. Tea is supposed to help your brain. Maybe that's it. Someone said it is the caffeine, but soft drinks don't help like tea does. The longer you go without vaccines, the better you'll feel.
I was in this exact same situation a few years ago. My neurologist put me on quarterly Vyepti infusions and that has helped tremendously. I still get headaches and migraines, but they are less intense and don’t go on day after day.
I’m sorry you’re going through this, but I truly understand what you’re going through and hope that you can arrange with your neurologist to try Vyepti infusions. It’s been a game changer for me. Good luck to you!
Sorry to hear what your going through as I have suffered from the same issues for the past 10 years and tried so many different drugs, scans until recently when I went to the doctors as I couldn’t cope anymore and this doctor who I’ve not seen before suggested I drop all the drugs and do neck exercises 3-4 times a day and wow! I’ve not had a migraine for the past 6 weeks, try it as it’s working for me hope it works for you- changed my life!

2 ReactionsI am so sorry that you continue to suffer. Reyvow has been an effective abortive for me. I get relief for about 4 hours and thereafter it's a dull headache, head pressure. Unfortunately my neuro tells me that they will stop making Reyvow. I've tried Zevpret nasal spray as an abortive and it gave me very little relief. But it seems to work for some people. Some people benefit from Low Dose Naltrexone--LdN. It is compounded so if you try it have some check prices at different compounding pharmacies as pricing varies widely.

2 Reactions@bernieboy Botox doesn’t do anything for me. Nerve blockers and nasal lidocaine helps a little.
I understand you. I am in pain 24/7. I had trigeminal decompression surgery. I tried all the medications available, Topamax, Gabapentin, Nurtec, Zipzor, Imitrex, Maxalt, Emgality, Aimovig, Ergotamine, Viepty, Ketamine, Percocet, Dilaudid, Excedrin, Zomig. I am going crazy. I am also depressed. 😔 I really hope you can find a solution soon. 🫂

1 ReactionAfter I had thunderclap headache March 14, I had daily headache until about April 12. CT scan and MRI neg. Had my headaches not stopped my primary offered botox scalp injections and a 5 day regimen of steroid to stop the cycle. I also have a "headache recipe" of essential oils that I mix in a small roller vial that really works, I roll it along my scalp line. I will share it if interested. Also massage therapy helps. I try not to "chase" the headaches with ibuprofen, etc because you can get rebound headaches. I saw neurologist several yrs ago, I learned to "grade" my headaches- I only take it if pain is greater than around a 5 on 1-10 scale.
